The richness of life in Creede will move you, every day.

Creede's culture is a vibrant, unexpected, authentic mix of creative opportunity and unique identity. Our arts community has the depth, talent, and variety of a much larger and more metropolitan community. Our heritage and celebration thereof is interwoven into our programs, buildings, and planning. Our breathtaking surroundings and outdoor opportunities inspire us, keep us healthy, and inform all aspects of our life. Explore some of what we have to offer:

Creede Repertory Theatre provides incredible live shows May through September at two beautiful facilities in Creede. Additionally, they host special events featuring live music, lectures, and more throughout the year. Restaurants and bars provide year-round live music. Local artists display work in our many incredible galleries as well as year-long shows by the Creede Arts Council. The Creede Historical Society hosts informative and worthwhile lectures every month. There are casual volleyball and softball leagues in the summer months and pond hockey in the winter. There are multiple youth and children activities throughout the year covering everything from theatre to sports to arts to science camp. The Mineral County Fairgrounds hosts the Creede Chute Out summer rodeo series, ATV rodeos, and horsemanship instruction.

The Chamber of Commerce is the central source of information for calendars, events, shopping and dining opportunities and more. Most governments and businesses are happy to answer questions as well, don’t be afraid to ask!

Outdoor recreation and exercise activities are extraordinary, accessible, varied, and abundant. There are hundreds of miles of public trails for hiking, jogging, biking, snowshoeing, cross country and backcountry skiing, backcountry snowboarding and OHV use. World-class golf can be played 20 miles away at the Rio Grande Club. Downhill skiing and snowboarding is available at Wolf Creek Ski Area 40 miles away. Locals also enjoy camping, fishing, hunting, rockhounding, harvesting wild food, visiting area waterfalls, shooting sports, floating the river, scenic drives, snowshowing, backcountry skiing and snowboarding, ATV and four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and hockey. With the wilderness at your doorstep, outdoor recreation is never more than a few minutes away, and you'll never wait in line for it!

Indoor exercize and activity is available. The Virginia Christensen Multiuse Facility has a full gym with affordable daily, weekly, monthly, and annual passes and hosts open gyms, spin cycling, yoga, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball games, exercise classes and more. See the Creede Parks & Recreation page on Facebook for a schedule and more information.
